My Beef Tallow Skincare Routine: Daytime Cream & Nighttime Lotion
Everyone’s buzzing about tallow skincare lately, and I figured it was time to jump in and see what the hype’s about—starting with beef tallow from my own kitchen.
I came up with two products: a daytime cream and a nighttime lotion. They’re great for keeping my skin happy or tackling anti-aging—whatever you’re after. Here’s the scoop on both.

Daytime Cream
My daytime cream is a mix of beef tallow, olive oil, beeswax, honey, and a few drops of essential oils. The tallow’s full of vitamins and fatty acids that moisturize, olive oil keeps it light, beeswax gives it that creamy feel, and honey helps my skin stay soft. It’s not too heavy for daytime, which I love, but it does need about 30 minutes to sink in before I put on makeup. I just slap it on in the morning, and let it do its thing. It keeps my skin smooth and helps with those little lines.

Nighttime Lotion
For nighttime, I made a mix with tallow, castor oil, and essential oils—it turned out more like a lotion, which I ended up liking. Tallow brings the moisture, and castor oil is the star here. It’s thick, super hydrating, and has ricinoleic acid to calm my skin down. Plus, it’s packed with antioxidants that fight aging. I love it for wrinkles—it plumps things up and softens lines while I sleep. It’s runnier but still rich, so I use it before bed and wake up with softer skin.

Why Tallow and DIY?
I’m into tallow because it’s natural and works with my skin’s own oils—people have used it forever for a reason! Making my own stuff is easy and lets me keep it simple. The cream’s perfect for daytime hydration, and the lotion handles the night shift. I’ve provided the recipes with instructions below, and the equipment and ingredients I use are linked below too. —my skin’s loving it, and I bet yours will too!
